Title:
Some coalescent processes, and the role of the length of their branches to estimate the rates of mutation in population genetics.
Content:

We consider a population of individuals with asexual reproduction and neutral mutations. In many cases, Wright-Fisher process is a good model to describe the evolution of the population when its size N is constant. When N tends to infinity, some coalescent processes arise. We describe this processes, and explain why the "lengths of their branches" are useful to give estimations of the mutation rate.
