The 2 subjects of the general knowledge block of Vietnam National University, Hanoi are Philosophy and Basic English. The basic English course is a conditional course, which is organized for general training throughout VNU for students in need and is assessed according to the 6-level Foreign Language Competency Framework for Vietnam or equivalent. The results of the foreign language course assessment are not included in the cumulative GPA, but are still included in the total number of credits of the training program;

6 compulsory modules including a specialized English course and 5 basic and specialized knowledge modules;

8 elective courses, 4 of which belong to the group Random Methods - Statistical Modeling - Modern Applied Statistics; 1 course belongs to the group of Parallel / Distributed Computing Methods (manipulating big data) and 3 modules to the group of applications: analysis of social network data, scientific data, sociology, management, big data mining, data visualization, practical internship.
