The Master's program in "Data Science" at Faculty of Mathematics, Mechanics, and Informatics of the VNU University of Science started in 2018.  

The goal of the program is to provide students with the fundamentals and practical skills in the field of data science, including:

• Knowledge of numerical and statistical methods in data analysis;
• Knowledge and skills in developing and exploiting big data analysis software on distributed computing systems;
• Knowledge and skills to detect and solve problems posed in big data analysis problems;
• Knowledge and skills in synthesizing, analyzing, interpreting data, and generating predictive models in specific applications.

The Master of Data Science program is designed for 2 main subjects who already have a bachelor's degree in science and technology (see details in the Admission Information section).

• Research-oriented students in the field of Data Science and Statistics or Computer Science, intending to continue in related training programs at the doctoral level;
• Students are working or planning to work in fields that require data analysis knowledge and skills.

With class time outside of office hours, working students are able to keep their job positions. Other students will be able to participate in research/implementation projects at the Data Science Lab or together with data science experts from other universities invited to participate in the training program.

Students also have many internship opportunities at enterprises that have cooperation agreements with the Faculty of Mathematics - Mechanical - Informatics (FPT, Viettel, Misa, Alt Inc. - Japan, InfiniGru - Korea, ...).
